A week in Town Empty
PostSubject: Re: A week in Town   A week in Town Icon_minitimeSat May 29, 2010 12:57 pm

For the next week Whyte is going to get the five horses back into shape. He goes about feeding, training and grooming them with great care and a practiced hand. At the end of the week he will pick the best 3 and indicate to A…(patricks character) that the other 2 be sold off. how much do i get?

it takes a week to do one of the following

Train an Animal for a Purpose

Rather than teaching an animal individual tricks, you can simply train it for a general purpose. Essentially, an animal’s purpose represents a preselected set of known tricks that fit into a common scheme, such as guarding or heavy labor. The animal must meet all the normal prerequisites for all tricks included in the training package. If the package includes more than three tricks, the animal must have an Intelligence score of 2. An animal can be trained for only one general purpose, though if the creature is capable of learning additional tricks (above and beyond those included in its general purpose), it may do so. Training an animal for a purpose requires fewer checks than teaching individual tricks does, but no less time.

General Purpose DC
Combat Training (or "Combat Riding") 20
Fighting 20
Guarding 20
Heavy labor 15
Hunting 20
Riding 15

do you train them before you sell them? if you dont then you gain 100 gp (this profit minus expense of horses as a whole for the week)

Whyte gets a sudden feeling that he might have a need for all the horses. While one of the fellow survivors of the zombie attack was masked and the other took off shortly after arriving in town he has no idea really who they are; he will wait silently anyway for the other two people that escaped the town with them to come back and find him and the now trained horses. if they happen to travel together again, it might help to have all the horses since a group can only move as fast as it's slowest member.

While you might get the horses on the road of recovery and initiate their training. There is no way you can have 5 horses fully recovered and combat trained in a week by yourself. You have also already received the 200gp for the sale of the 2 horses. I will let you recant this time because this thread is in the game time section (which it shouldnt be) but not again.

i guess i just nurse them back to health and charge each party member 15gp that wants a horse for the hassle of my services. i would like to train one of the horses in Combat for myself since i believe it takes a week per horse per type of training?

i will proceed with week one of training then. let me know if i roll crappy and need to start week one over.

all these rules are new to me. Ive never played a PC that knew the first thing about training an animal. THIS ROCKS!

You successfully upgrade. At the start of game you will have two weeks left of training.
